My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sam & Bilbo – An Inseparable Pair of Basset Brothers! Sam and Bilbo are bonded 3-year-old classic Basset Hound brothers who must be adopted together. Much like their namesakes, these two take on life side by side and are rarely seen apart. Their connection is truly special, and they bring twice the love, laughter, and Basset charm to any home.

Both boys are house-trained, use a doggie door, and sleep soundly together in a very large crate at night. During the day, Sam and Bilbo love being outdoors—no matter the weather! You’ll often find them patrolling the yard, sniffing every inch, or entertaining themselves with wrestling matches, stick collecting, and games of chase. Because of their love for the outdoors, they’ll need a home with a securely fenced yard.

These friendly brothers have never met a stranger. They get along wonderfully with people, children, and other dogs. Due to their playful nature, they would do best in a home with older children, as their enthusiasm could accidentally knock over younger ones.

When it’s time to relax, Sam and Bilbo are happy to cuddle up with their family, soaking in all the love and attention they can get. They’re quick learners and settled into their foster home with ease. With their goofy antics, playful personalities, and undeniable bond, these two are guaranteed to steal your heart.

If you’re ready for double the love and double the fun, Sam and Bilbo are waiting to meet you! Contact BROOD today to learn more about adopting this special pair.
Their combined adoption fee is $450.00.

**Only BROOD-approved adopters can meet a dog (no exceptions). Our adoption application is on the BROOD website at https://brood-va.org/adoptionapp/. We adopt to residents of Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, DC, Delaware, and southern Pennsylvania. Do not apply to adopt from BROOD if you live in another state. We require a virtual home visit and a veterinary reference. The age of BROOD dogs is an estimate, as very few come with exact age records. 12/13/2025
