My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Tay was brought in by a community member on November 29th, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Give a big hello to Tay! Tay is a young, high-energy, and affectionate dog who's looking for an active home ready to help him channel his enthusiasm. He's a wiggly, happy boy who bonds quickly with people and loves attention, playtime, and long walks.

Tay can become over excited on leash and may pull, jump, or get mouthy when excited, especially when seeing other dogs, but his body language stays loose and friendly. With high-value treats, redirection, and consistency, he's able to settle and relax fairly quickly. Fetch, enrichment toys, and regular exercise help him do his best.

Because of his size and energy level, Tay would do best in a home without children under 10 and with adopters who are committed to structure, training, and meeting his exercise needs. With the right guidance, Tay will make a fun, loving companion. Visit our San Diego campus and adopt Tay today.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
