💎🩷Meet Ruby, a “Sato dog” from Puerto Rico! A “Sato dog” refers to the mixed breed, stray dogs on the island. (Majority are small-medium size but some can be larger). Island dogs are smart, loyal, highly trainable, and thrive on routines and consistency. They have wonderful demeanors, make devoted companions, adjust well to their environments, and are a perfect mix of energetic and affectionate. There is no love like the love of an island dog.
Ruby was found at Macho beach in Ceiba, PR with other dogs and rescued in September. She was timid upon being rescued but has made great progress thanks to the compassionate individuals who helped guide her through her fears. She has decompressed well and is more accepting of affection. She would do best with a patient adopter/family who understands and allows her time to shine. She is a super sweet girl, likes other dogs, and would do well with a doggie sibling. She can be shy about getting leashed but loves walks! She is crate trained, mostly potty trained with few accidents, and sleeps well at night. She loves people, kids, toys, and the couch.🤭 She is a calm dog with energy in spurts. This girl will make a nice companion and we are excited to see her confidence continue to thrive. We are unsure how she would be with cats but likely no issues with proper introductions. (Otis is the possible Dad and Mom is unknown).
📍Ability to transport to other states/locations, if applicable.

Paradise Rescue was established to address the pressing issue of stray animals in Puerto Rico, particularly in the northeast region. Recognizing that rescue efforts are more effective with a support network, we founded this organization to share our experiences and engage individuals interested in contributing through donations, fostering, or adoption. Over the years, we've accumulated an impressive portfolio of rescue success stories and assembled a dedicated team committed to improving the lives of our beloved "satos."
