My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Vickie A180618
45 lb. spayed female, approx 3 years old

-This gal starts off timid but quickly warms up!
-She is treat motivated and that’s the best way to make friends initially
-Pets made her nervous at first, but she relaxed and started leaning into them
-We made her our “office dog” for a while and she did great. She relaxed a bit and even started to figure out toys! She was a truly a pleasure to have hanging out with us while we worked!
-She walks slowly and cautiously on leash, pausing frequently to scan her surroundings. She’s already getting much better with this too!
-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros
-She’ll need time and patience away from the stress to relax and thrive!

•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt

•Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment.

•Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in.

•There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption.

•To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering.

**And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.**

•The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30
