My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wilma was found in a hot garage in San Antonio. Left there with her brother, Spanky, a mama dog and eight puppies, they were left with no food and no water for over a week. The three adult dogs ate a leather sofa, trying to stay alive.

Fortunately, we found them. Unfortunately, she has been waiting over three years for someone to see what a wonderful girl she is and bring her home.

Wilma is dog friendly. However, if she is nervous and scared in a new location, she does need a slow introduction to other dogs. She’s not aggressive, however when scared she can be snappy.

Wilma does have a strong prey drive. I would not recommend cats or other small/medium sized animals, other than dogs, be in the same home.

Wilma is people friendly and kid friendly, she is a cuddler and likes nothing more than to be the center of attention. She doesn’t demand it, she just expects it.

Wilma is very athletic and would fit perfectly in a home that does running, jogging, hiking, or other forms of energetic athletics. She is incredibly smart, and incredibly happy.

Will you bring her home?

More about this rescue

In 2018, a tiny little 5 week old chihuahua mix landed on my doorstep. She introduced herself as Sophie, moved in, and changed my world. Not three years later, I had 4 rescue pups, and quit my job to move to Texas and start a rescue.

We learned a lot in Texas. Both good, lots of dog experience, and what we absolutely didn’t agree with. Finally the time came for us to travel to California and fully launch the rescue AND sanctuary.

Together, we can save a lot of dogs.
