My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Doris!

This adorable 7lb Chorkie is pure love in a tiny package! She's a sweet girl who lives for her people and wants nothing more than to be by your side through every moment of the day.
Her sweet personality shines with everyone she meets. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and children, making her the perfect addition to almost any home.

When you're relaxing, she'll happily curl up in your lap for endless snuggles. But the best part of your day? Coming home to her signature "tappy dance"—her excited little paws expressing pure joy that you're finally back where you belong: with her!

She would do best in a home that is calm, she is sensitive to noise and will bark when she hears loud noises.

If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate little shadow who'll fill your days with love and your evenings with cuddles, this special girl is waiting to make your house feel like home.

Apply to make her your forever bestie!

Additional adoption info

Peace Love and Paws Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit, animal welfare organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of stray, neglected and abused animals. Peace Love and Paws Rescue is completely funded through fundraising efforts and public donations. All of our pets are cared for by foster homes and receive complete medical care, which includes worming, vaccinations, spaying/neutering and microchipping prior to their adoption.

This questionnaire is designed to help Peace Love and Paws Rescue determine if a specific dog is the right match for you and your household. All adopting and fostering parties are required to complete this form prior to adoption. Peace Love and Paws Rescue reserves the right to deny any adoption or fostering based on answers to this questionnaire and/or interviews prior to adoptions and placing foster homes!

More about this rescue

We are three passionate, animal loving dog moms who met through various volunteer efforts at local rescues in the Detroit area. We continued talking outside of volunteering and quickly came to realize that we all had similar goals, to help as many animals in need that we possibly could. In the Detroit area, there are so many animals who need homes, medical attention, and love.

We decided that we wanted to be able to do more to help these animals. We are raising funds through selling merchandise, fundraising, donations, and supporting local community events. All funds raised will be used to establish a nonprofit status, fund the medical needs of local dogs, and find shelter animals their furever home.

Follow us on our journey to create a rescue that provides animals the love and care they need while they find their home. We will post updates on our social media of the dogs we are able to help and how your support made a difference.
