That day, he went from street dog to superhero, and he’s been waiting ever since for his chance to be someone’s hero in return. Now 5 years old, Petey has spent three long years waiting for a foster or forever home. He’s often overlooked so that new arrivals and puppies can have their moment, but not anymore — it’s finally Petey’s turn to shine.
Petey is the ultimate sidekick: loyal, goofy, and full of love. He’s about 55 pounds of pure muscle and joy, always ready for a game of tug-of-war, a road trip adventure, or a long nap snuggled up beside you. He’s a total cuddle bug who lives for belly rubs and hugs — if he could spend all day getting pets, he’d be the happiest superhero on Earth.
This smart, affectionate boy already knows his manners — sit, down, shake, speak — and he’s fully potty trained, kennel trained, and walks beautifully on leash. He’s eager to please, quick to learn, and always ready to show off his good-boy skills (especially if snacks are involved!). Petey would prefer to be your one and only, without other dogs or cats in the home.
He may be a big, strong dog, but deep down, Petey’s just a big baby who wants a soft bed, gentle hands, and a person to love with his whole heart.
