My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When Bunny first arrived, she was very shy, but in just a few short days she has begun to blossom. As she gets more comfortable, her sweet and gentle nature truly shines. Bunny does best when you meet her at her level, sit down with her, and she’ll happily come over for pets, resting her head softly in your lap.

She is incredibly gentle when taking treats and especially loves a good yak chew to keep her entertained. As Bunny continues to be socialized, she opens up more each day, revealing herself to be a true cuddle bug. With a few loving pets, she’s perfectly content to drift off to sleep right by your side.

Bunny would thrive in a quieter home where love, patience, and understanding allow her to show her true personality. For someone willing to give her the time she needs, Bunny will reward them with endless affection and sweet companionship.

More about this shelter

We serve the pets and people in Northern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin. Our mission is clear: To take responsibility for each and every orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected dog and cat which reaches our doors; to take them in and shelter them; to provide the best medical and physical care possible for them; to nurture them back to health if need be; and finally to place them into warm, loving, adoptive homes where they can enjoy the lives they deserve.
