Meet Slap Chop: your personal shadow, couch companion, and total ham of a cat.
Born March 24, 2025, Slap Chop is not a “glued-to-your-face” kitten, she’s more of a quietly supervising from a few feet away type. Wherever you are, she’s nearby, casually keeping tabs while you go about your day. Cooking? Cleaning? Existing? She’s there. Watching. Judging gently.
But the moment you sit down? Game over.
That’s when Slap Chop transforms into a full-on cuddle puddle: purring, kneading, flopping dramatically across your lap like she’s been waiting all day for this exact moment. She’s incredibly sweet and affectionate once invited, and she soaks up attention like it’s her full-time job.
She’s very social with other animals and would do best in a home with at least one other cat. She’s especially fond of her foster sibling Chef Boyardee and she also does well with dogs. Kids are fine too - she’s pretty unbothered overall.
Slap Chop is also a chatty girl, occasionally announcing her thoughts to the entire house for reasons that remain unclear. Is she telling a story? Making an important statement? Practicing her opera voice? No one knows — but it’s part of her charm. She’s litter box trained, happy, confident, and easygoing.
If you want a kitten who gives you space but chooses you when it counts , a “sit-with-you” cat rather than a “hover-over-you” cat, Slap Chop might be your perfect match. She’s affectionate, funny, and patiently waiting for someone to notice just how special she is.
Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
