This helps San Diego Humane Society - San Diego Campus with pet care costs.
How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by their previous owner on August 9, 2025.
Why this pet is the one for you:
Selena is a sweet, playful spirit and a thoughtful way of moving through the world. She can be a little shy at first, but with positive reinforcement and patience, she has learned to shine-enjoying mat games, clicker training, enrichment, and even playtime with a few favorite toys. As trust grows, Selena offers soft eye contact, gentle sits, and happily approaches familiar people to ask for calm, consent-based pets.
She will do best in a quiet, predictable home with a secure fenced yard and no other dogs. Selena needs an adopter who understands fearful dogs and is committed to fear-free, reward-based training at her pace. She's most comfortable with teens over 14, has no history with cats or small animals, and would prefer peaceful surroundings where she can feel safe and supported.
With time, kindness, and plenty of tasty treats (cream cheese is a favorite!), Selena becomes a loyal, endearing companion. For the right home, she offers a joyful mix of curiosity, gentle affection, and the rewarding experience of helping a sensitive dog continue to blossom.
At SDHS:
