My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐶 Adoptable Dog: Toby – An Energetic & Loving Companion
Meet Toby, a handsome 5-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix. We adopted Toby when he was just 2 months old, and he has grown into an incredibly loving, cuddly, and affectionate companion.

Toby has a wonderful personality but is also highly energetic and is best described as "high maintenance." We are sadly seeking a new home for him because our small apartment cannot provide the large yard and constant activity level he truly needs.

Toby's Ideal Home:

Toby needs an owner who can dedicate a large portion of the day to exercising and playing with him. He thrives on activity and requires significant mental and physical stimulation.

Personality & Play: He absolutely loves playing fetch, enjoys tug toys, and is a champion snuggler, often curling up in a lap or around your shoulders.

Training & Health: Toby is fully house-trained, excellent on a leash, and has successfully completed a board-and-train program, where he learned the "place" command. He is up to date on all vaccinations.

Important Consideration: Toby must be the only dog in the household, as he does not get along with other dogs.

Toby is a fantastic dog who deserves an active owner and a spacious environment where he can truly thrive.

Additional adoption info

Our volunteers have made a commitment to ensure that the animals we place will be in their new home for life.

Once an application is submitted, a volunteer will work with you to meet the puppies that interest you.

Please plan on meeting the animal you are interested in adopting. Although the pictures and descriptions may show the "perfect" pet for you - nothing replaces an actual meeting!! You can not place an animal on hold. This is unfair to both the animal and other potential adopters.

ADOPTION FEES:
Please read the Q&A's on our website for adoption fee information and what is included.

PawSafe's dogs and puppies stay in both foster care and are kenneled. If you are interested in a specific dog please make an appointment so we can be sure the dog is at the shelter when you'll be visiting. Otherwise you are welcome anytime we're open!

If you'd like to bring a donation for the dogs, we're always in need of old towels, sheets, paper towels, laundry detergent, and bleach.

More about this shelter

We work very closely with rescues in southern states to find new homes for dogs and puppies who deserve a family despite their state of origin.

Most of the puppies in our care come from over-crowded shelters in states with extreme over population and high kill rates. Our main goal is to place orphaned and unwanted animals into loving permanent homes.
