My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Terra is a 2 year old very sweet and gentle female red lab mix.  We don't know a lot about her past, but it is clear she had some tough times before coming to rescue.  She came to us considerably underweight.  With plenty of nourishment and lots of treats, she is gaining steadily.

She is a little timid, yet very sweet.  Terra loves every person she has met, although she prefers to take her time, watching you from afar for a minute before eventually crawling into your lap and snuggling in deep.  She loves other dogs of all sizes.  She interacts with them gently, and takes cues very well.  She does seem a little too interested in the resident cat, so we feel she would do best in a home without them.

Terra is completely housetrained, and will let us know when she needs to go outside.
Her house manners are great as well.  If there is something delicious left out on the countertops, she might try to get a closer look.  We are working on that.
She does ok in a crate, but we sometimes allow her to sleep in our room.  In all cases, she sleeps quietly through the night and won't budge until her people do.
Leash training is going well, with just some occasionally pulling when something interesting is near.  We are working on some basic obedience with her.  She currently doesn't know any commands, but seems eager to learn.  Things are going well, as she is very treat motivated.

If you are looking for a loyal, loving friend with tons of potential, and you are willing to help her learn to be her best, Terra might be the one for you!
