My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LONG-TERM/FOREVER FOSTER NEEDED: FOSTERING IS FREE!

Meet Frankie — a soul filled with love, resilience, and quiet courage.

Frankie’s story is one of heartbreaking cruelty but also incredible resilience. He was severely beaten before rescue, leaving his back permanently curved. Although his fractures healed, they healed incorrectly, and there is no surgery that can repair the damage.

When he first arrived, Frankie was paralyzed with fear — terrified of human touch, flinching at sudden sounds, and unsure whether kindness could ever be real. Thanks to the patience and dedication of several foster families, he has made tremendous emotional progress.

Still, Frankie carries deep trauma. In his 4.5 years in rescue, he has had four foster homes, each helping him grow a little more.

Despite everything he has endured, Frankie remains unbelievably gentle. He loves other animals, even curling up with kittens, and he radiates a quiet, tender sweetness.

Frankie’s Medical & Daily Needs

Frankie’s medications average about $175/month and include:

Anxiety medications to help manage his trauma

Proin, taken regularly

Pain medications to support his permanently injured back

These keep him comfortable and emotionally supported.

What Frankie Needs in His Next Foster Home

🛏 A Safe, Predictable Space
His emotional safe zone is always the master bedroom. He needs to sleep close to his people — either in their bed or in a cozy dog bed beside them.

🏠 Someone Home More Often Than Not
Frankie struggles when left alone for long periods. He thrives when someone is home most of the day, offering reassurance, routine, and a sense of safety.

😔 Trauma-Informed Patience
He is still afraid of many things. Sudden noises and changes overwhelm him. He needs calm, gentle handling and a foster who will move at his pace.

🚫 Limited or No Stairs (Essential)
To prevent additional pain and protect his curved spine, he must live in a home with limited or no stairs.

🧩 Routine & Adjustment Time
Transitioning into a new environment takes time. Establishing a predictable daily routine — whether he’s free-roaming or crated — will help him settle.

🚽 Potty Habits
He uses pee pads reliably and will also go outside. Consistency helps him feel confident.

🐾 Good with Other Animals
He loves other pets and finds comfort in their presence. A calm animal companion would be a bonus.

🏡 Quiet Home Preferred
A peaceful environment helps keep his anxiety manageable and allows him to feel secure.

🦴 Favorite Things
He loves chew treats like bully sticks, cow ears, and chicken jerky.
He eats Fromm canned and dry food and enjoys mealtime.

🌿 Little Bursts of Joy
When he’s feeling good, Frankie gets adorable yard zoomies — brief moments where his playful spirit shines through.

Frankie has survived the unimaginable, yet continues to love with a gentle, trusting heart.
He needs a foster home where someone can be there for him, keep him safe, and show him that he is finally home for good.

If you can offer patience, a quiet home, and lots of love — Frankie will give you more than you could ever imagine in return.
