My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VT

Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: No
Good with kids: Unknown
Crate trained: Yes
House Trained: Yes

Clem is a gorgeous boy with a heart as big as his gentle brown eyes. This sweet dog is the definition of tender-hearted; gentle, kind, and quietly affectionate once he feels safe. Clem can be a little shy when meeting new people, but with a bit of patience (and maybe a tasty treat or two), he’ll soon be leaning in for pets and tail wags. He is a sensitive soul who will thrive in a calm, reassuring home where he can build confidence at his own pace.

While Clem gets along beautifully with other dogs, he’s a bit afraid of cats, so a feline-free home or one with a very quiet and calm cat would be best for this lovable guy. He has not been around kids while in his foster home, but would most likely do well with them. Clem enjoys carrying around his favorite stuffed animals and giving them gentle “chews” to show how much he cares.

Clem is fully crate and house trained and will bark or whine when he needs to go outside. He walks well on a leash too.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will quietly steal your heart, Clem is ready to be your new best friend. Give this sweet hound a little time, a little love, and he’ll give you a lifetime of devotion in return!

More about this rescue

Our mission at Last Hope K9 Rescue is to save every possible dog we can from being euthanized within high-volume kill shelters throughout the U.S.

As the literal “last hope” of nearly every animal we serve, we work tirelessly to place each one within a stable, loving environment that can act as either their forever home, or the gateway to their forever home. We also strive to ensure that all of our adoptions and foster placements are the optimal fit for everyone involved, including our dogs. This leads to our second goal: enriching human lives through canine companionship. To us, you can’t have one without the other.

Lastly, we promote animal welfare by lobbying important initiatives that both protect and give voice to the voiceless. By fostering an environment of collaboration with other organizations that share our goals, and working together instead of in competition, we find that we accomplish more.
