He came into the shelter with an embedded collar, later escaped his new owner and survived on his own for three solid months in Titusville, battled heartworms, and had to learn—slowly—that people can be safe. Despite everything he’s been through, Phoenix continues to rise.
Today, he is still a very timid and easily scared boy, but he has made incredible progress and is becoming more comfortable around people each day. With patience, consistency, and love, Phoenix’s gentle spirit truly shines.

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations (for their age)
All dogs have had a health exam
All dogs have regular flea/tick treatment & heart worm prevention
All dogs are microchipped
Puppies (8wks - 1yr) are required to have a vet appointment for spay/neuter set up before you take them home, this is to be confirmed by your vet.
All adult/senior dogs (2yrs+) have a two week adoption trial period, if it doesn't work out within the first two weeks the dog will come back to Isla's Journey and the adoption fee will be refunded.
All dogs are spayed/neutered at appropriate age

We work to trap strays and try to reunite them with their owners, they have a 5 day hold in a foster home. If they aren’t reclaimed they will then have a health exam, proper vaccines, a microchip, and will be spayed/neutered if they weren’t upon intake. They will then live in a foster home until adopted into a furever home!
We strive to educate the community on responsible pet ownership and breed awareness. Lost dog prevention is just another topic we are passionate about. We want all dogs to be in a safe and loving home.
