What we know: Transferred from South Plains SPCA in Lubbock, Texas, mom and single puppy, mom is HW+ and will need 2-3 months of heartworm treatment, then spayed. Single puppy is Willow, approximately 7 weeks old.
* I should be ready for adoption on 12/20*
From the foster: 🌳 Meet Willow 🌳
Sweet baby Willow has been gentle from the very beginning. Not a peep was heard during her ride home from the rescue, and she calmly sat through her first bath before curling up and falling fast asleep in my lap. What truly stood out was her quiet presence when she arrived with her litter—amidst all the noise and excitement, Willow was peacefully resting in her kennel, taking everything in with her beautiful green eyes.
At just 9 weeks old, Willow is doing all the things a puppy her age should—playful, curious, and learning more every day. She’s already picking up on the sit command, learning what’s appropriate to chew, and has begun her potty-training journey. With consistency and a solid routine, she’s sure to master it in no time. We are very impressed with her ability to pick up on things quickly for such a young pup.
Willow loves to snuggle just as much as she loves to play. She will happily and preferably fall asleep snuggled up on your chest. She adores her 5-year-old foster doggy brother, follows him closely, and does an excellent job reading his cues—knowing when it’s time to play and when it’s time to settle.
At night, Willow sleeps in her crate and settles quickly as long as someone stays nearby for a moment to let her know she’s safe. Once asleep, she sleeps soundly through the night. New surroundings can be a little scary for her, but with gentle encouragement, she blossoms. Like many puppies her age, Willow doesn’t love being alone—having another dog or frequent human companionship gives her the confidence and comfort she needs to relax.
Willow will thrive in a loving home that offers patience, consistency, and plenty of affection, ideally with someone who can provide frequent company.
Willow is a gentle, loving sweetheart who would make a wonderful addition to any family lucky enough to call her their own 🐾💚
