My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gordo, a lovable 5-year-old pug with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Gordo came to us from Mexico, where he was found as a stray. When he was discovered, he had a previously broken front leg that was already healed. It doesn’t bother him at all — most people wouldn’t even notice, except for his adorable little waddle that only adds to his charm.

Gordo is a happy, affectionate boy who thrives on companionship. He truly needs another dog or a very present human in his new home, as he gets lonely when left by himself. Having a companion helps him feel safe, relaxed, and content.

This sweet pug loves being close to his people and soaking up attention. He enjoys being part of daily life and will happily follow you from room to room. Gordo is also great with cats, making him a wonderful fit for a multi-pet household.

One thing to know about Gordo — Minnesota winters are not his thing. Snow and cold are not his favorite, and he will be happiest in a warm, cozy home with quick potty breaks when the weather turns chilly (very on-brand for a pug).

Gordo would do best in a home where he won’t be alone often and can enjoy plenty of companionship and snuggles. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving pug with an irresistible waddle and a gentle soul, Gordo could be your perfect match.

Adoption fee is $350 + tax.

More about this rescue

Camp Companion is a 501c3 organization established in 2003.

Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.

Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.

Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
