Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Carlos is desperately hoping for a foster or forever home for the holidays. He is currently in a foster home and they can no longer keep him. They found this sweet puppy abandoned on the side of the road. Breed is unknown but will most likely be a med. size when adult.
He weighs about 40 lbs, about 4-5 months old, housebroke, and well behaved. He rides well in the car and likes to play with other dogs. He is fully vaccinated and when he is old enough his neutering will be covered by NM BARC.

we try to find a good fit for both perspective owner and pet.
3.
Meet the Pet
If there are other dogs in the home it is a good idea to have them meet first on neutral territory if any possibility of protective behavior
4.
Home Check
If possible we would like a home visit before adoption with the per, and have the pet meet any other family members and pets in the home
Additional adoption info
If the pet does not work out in the home we want the adoptee to contact us and return the pet to us or re-home with our approval only.

More about this rescue
We are a non profit totally run by volunteers. We are presently focusing on the low income mining towns of Grant County, NM. where there is a huge need. We have saved over 130 dogs and a several cats from being euthanized in the shelters here by finding homes and transferring them to non-kill shelters in the last 8 years. We have recently organized and gotten our non-profit status. We also assist with spay and neuter, vaccinations, home shelters, kennels and food for our community. We depend on donations and appreciate any when an animal is adopted. We work with the ACO's of each village, and have donated needed items for the animals for their comfort. We also hope to start an education program in schools to bring more compassion in that setting.
