My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Annie! Annie is a 3½-year-old Australian Blue Heeler (Cattle Dog) with brains to spare and a heart ready for a home. True to her breed, she is very smart, alert, and eager to engage, making her a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys an intelligent, active dog.

Annie came to us as a stray, but she hasn’t let that stop her from being hopeful. She’s ready to leave shelter life behind and start her next chapter with a loving family. With the right home, Annie will thrive as a loyal best friend who loves having a job, learning new things, and being part of the action.

Annie wants a family of her own. If you’re looking for a clever, devoted companion to share your life with, Annie might be the perfect match. She is vaccinated, microchipped and spayed.

More about this shelter

Norman Animal Welfare is a municipal shelter operated and funded by the City of Norman, Oklahoma. In addition to providing a safe environment for our adoptable animals we also are responsible for the enforcement of all animal related laws within the City of Norman and holding all stray animals that are located. In addition to these main roles, we also provide public microchipping, city pet licensing, and other educational services to our community.
We average approximately 3,400 animals in and out of our facility each year. We have an amazing facility that fully opened in 2016. We operate daily with a very limited staff supported by several amazing volunteers. We operate an active foster program and are always seeking to work with those in our community interested in assisting us in our mission.
