My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jazzy is a petite sweetheart who’s still learning that the world - and especially leashes - aren’t as scary as they seem. She greets you with a soft, timid sweetness and a kind face that just asks for patience and understanding.

Jazzy is intimidated by having the leash put on her, and tries to avoid it. Once the leash is on though, she walks beautifully right by your side, calm and relaxed, without pulling at all. She just needs slow, gentle handling and someone who understands that confidence comes with time. Jazzy would likely be a quiet, low key companion, happy to do her own thing or soak up attention. She enjoys being petted, allows full handling, and even gives sweet, gentle face licks while you love on her. She’ll even let you pick her up and carry her around.

Jazzy is treat motivated, though she may need a little extra time to warm up before taking treats from your hand. With patience, consistency, and a calm routine we know she`ll blossom into such a sweet little lady!

More about this shelter

We are an open admission, municipal shelter serving the unincorporated area of Fort Bend County, TX.

We are the county's rabies control authority as well as being their animal shelter. On average, we take in approximately 4,000-5,000 pets per year.

The staff at FBCAS is small but each and every one of us is dedicated to making the stay of the pets in our care as comfortable as possible. Our hearts are in this and with every pet that crosses our threshold.

We are part of the amazing Fort Bend County community and we are always striving to work with our community people and partners to make our shelter the best it can be.

We can always use new volunteers to help us keep our pets happy and healthy while they wait for their forever home.

We hope that you will find your new love at our shelter - we always have so many to choose from!
