My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We are a retired couple but we take him daily to a private dog park where he has been friendly to many dogs and owners. He hasn’t been around too many small dogs but does have a Boston terrier and golden doodle friend. He has been around school age children often and with one child in a wheelchair and one autistic. ( all grandchildren so they visit often but don’t live here). He has chased multiple cats and knocked us down if we don’t let go of the leash fast enough. He has not shown aggression toward people or ever bitten. He is very sweet at home but is more than we can handle with our recent cardiac problems and hip replacements , he is just too much for 70 year olds.

Additional adoption info

In the Central Valley, we have an over abundance of homeless and unwanted pets. There are simply too many companion animals and not enough homes! But you can help. One way to start putting an end to pet overpopulation is to adopt your next pet from the Central California SPCA. In doing so, you immediately give a home to an animal that didn’t have one, and you reduce the overall number of homeless pets in our community.

You are saving a life and enhancing your own. You are also helping to support the nearly 2,400 animals that come through our doors each year.

Please note that these are sheltered, homeless animals that are not always perfect in every way. They may need extra time to adjust or have unforeseen behavioral or medical problems. While we strive for successful placement by providing as healthy, well socialized animals as possible, we can only provide any history we have received, collected, or observed from staff or volunteers during their stay. More about this shelter

As the premier animal welfare organization in California’s Central Valley since 1895, we are committed to leading and serving our community of animals and people by providing programs and services which serve all the stages of an animal’s life. These programs include Adoptions, Rescue, Humane Investigations, Foster Care, Owner Surrenders, Outreach, Humane Education, Veterinary Services, Spay/Neuter programs, and many other Pet Services.

We are not federally, state, or locally funded and do not receive aid from any national organization (including the ASPCA). The CCSPCA owns its own land, buildings, and equipment purchased with privately donated funds. Our funds come from our loyal supporters, allowing us to provide many vital services to our community.
