Meet Chickpea
Chickpea is a gentle, sweet soul with just the right touch of sass. She may be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe and comfortable, her warm and playful personality shines through. She loves spending time near her humans, engaging in interactive play, and being part of the daily rhythm of the home.
This lovely girl is very playful—wand toys, springs, and other interactive toys are her absolute favorites. When she’s not busy playing, you’ll often find her birdwatching from a sunny window or lounging peacefully around the house, soaking up the warmth and enjoying a good nap.
Chickpea shows affection in her own thoughtful way. She happily accepts treats, enjoys attention, and will sometimes allow gentle holding when she’s feeling especially cozy and connected. She thrives on companionship but also appreciates having quiet moments to herself, making her a wonderfully balanced and easygoing companion.
She would do especially well in a home with another cat, as she enjoys having a feline friend to share playtime and space with. Overall, Chickpea is a loving, playful, and calm little lady who will bring comfort, joy, and a bit of spunky charm to her future home.
Chickpea is from an owner surrender with 4 siblings. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.

If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
