My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Elmwood is a gentle soul with the sweetest heart. He may be a little shy at first, but once he feels safe, his loving personality shines through. He’s the kind of kitten who wants to know where you are at all times—and will politely (and adorably) meow if he can’t find you. He loves toys he can chase and bat around, especially balls that make fun jingling sounds. Elmwood enjoys playful moments with his siblings, followed by calm cuddle time where he can relax and soak up affection. He likes cozy spots, gentle attention, and quiet reassurance, making him a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys a calmer, loving kitten. is playful without being overwhelming, affectionate without being demanding, and the perfect balance of fun and tenderness.

Elmwood would love to be a part of a family where someone is around to answer his tiny “where did you go?” meows and give him the perfect lap to snuggle on.

Kittens need buddies! We require that kittens be adopted with a sibling or go to a home that already has another young companion animal. If you already have a young animal or another kitten in your home, great! If not, Elmwood will need to be adopted with one of their siblings (Redwood, Birchwood, Rosewood).

The adoption fee for a kitten is $250. For a pair, the adoption fee is $500.

Note: Kittens must be 10+ weeks old before they can go home.

Additional adoption info

If you’re thinking about adding a kitten or two to your family, a Bitty Kitty is a great choice! Kittens who have been bottlefed tend to be extra friendly and snuggly!

By adopting a kitten from the Bitty Kitty Brigade, you’ll be supporting our no-kill organization and making room for us to take in another orphan kitten.

All of our cats receive high-quality veterinary care and exams. Prior to adoption, all of our kittens are:

FeLV/FIV tested
spayed/neutered
treated for external and internal parasites
microchipped
FVRCP (distemper) vaccinated

Please allow 24-48 hours for a reply to an adoption inquiry.

More about this rescue

The Bitty Kitty Brigade is a foster-based rescue for orphaned neonatal kittens in the Twin Cities, MN and surrounding areas.

Our mission is:
To provide care for orphaned neonatal kittens and to partner with animal rescue organizations and impound facilities to improve survival rates within the neonatal kitten population.

The Bitty Kitty Brigade provides care for kittens ages 0-6 weeks who are without mothers and not yet eating on their own. Once weaned, the kittens are either transferred to one of our partner no-kill organizations or transferred to another caregiver within our organization where they will be cared for until adoption age.
