My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Birchwood is a brave little explorer with white-tipped paws and expressive whiskers. He is endlessly curious about everything you’re doing (and especially why you’re doing it), and he firmly believes the vacuum is a worthy opponent that must be chased at all costs. He loves interactive play, zooming across the room, and romping with other kittens. Anything that moves is fair game, especially if it’s noisy or unexpected.

Despite his high-energy antics, Birchwood is also a total snuggle bug. When playtime ends, he settles in close and revs up his impressively loud purr motor. He loves romping with other kittens, fearlessly investigating new spaces, and then curling up for cuddles like he never caused a moment of chaos at all. Birchwood would thrive in a home that appreciates playful curiosity, confident kittens, and lots of love—plus maybe doesn’t mind a kitten who supervises household chores.

Kittens need buddies! We require that kittens be adopted with a sibling or go to a home that already has another young companion animal. If you already have a young animal or another kitten in your home, great! If not, Birchwood will need to be adopted with one of their siblings (Rosewood, Elmwood or Redwood).

The adoption fee for a kitten is $250. For a pair, the adoption fee is $500.

Note: Kittens must be 10+ weeks old before they can go home.

Additional adoption info

If you’re thinking about adding a kitten or two to your family, a Bitty Kitty is a great choice! Kittens who have been bottlefed tend to be extra friendly and snuggly!

By adopting a kitten from the Bitty Kitty Brigade, you’ll be supporting our no-kill organization and making room for us to take in another orphan kitten.

All of our cats receive high-quality veterinary care and exams. Prior to adoption, all of our kittens are:

FeLV/FIV tested
spayed/neutered
treated for external and internal parasites
microchipped
FVRCP (distemper) vaccinated

Please allow 24-48 hours for a reply to an adoption inquiry.

More about this rescue

The Bitty Kitty Brigade is a foster-based rescue for orphaned neonatal kittens in the Twin Cities, MN and surrounding areas.

Our mission is:
To provide care for orphaned neonatal kittens and to partner with animal rescue organizations and impound facilities to improve survival rates within the neonatal kitten population.

The Bitty Kitty Brigade provides care for kittens ages 0-6 weeks who are without mothers and not yet eating on their own. Once weaned, the kittens are either transferred to one of our partner no-kill organizations or transferred to another caregiver within our organization where they will be cared for until adoption age.
