If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Gus came to us as a stray around two years ago. The vet believes he is purebred. He is neutered, chipped, and has a 3-year rabies vaccination. Gus has had free run of 25 acres with access to our garage, where he sleeps. He loves attention and enjoys the company of 3 cats and a senior dog. He is SUPER sweet. He has never bitten, nipped, or even growled at us or any of the numerous other adults and children who visit. Gus has a lot of energy but also enjoys lolling about in the sunshine. He likes to open things (buckets, totes, coolers) and snitch things that smell like us, but don't belong to him. He is smart and eager to please. He is wary of loud noises (tractor, power tools, etc). He comes when called, goes to bed when told, and will sit and “wait” for a treat. Gus is being rehomed solely because he has been raiding the neighbor's trash and we have no fence to contain him. We are hoping a family with a fence (and maybe a canine friend?) can make room for this beautiful boy.
