Meet Adele! With her lovely tuxedo markings, this little lady is as sweet as she looks. Adele has a big heart in a petite body. She enjoys interacting with adults and playing tag with other cats, but does not like to wrestle. As such, Adele would be a good companion to a calm adult or senior cat who matches her gentle demeanor. She can be a solo pet provided she gets plenty of playtime and attention. We met this tuxedo cutie at the Newark city shelter and know little of her previous history. Adele was born around January 2024.

Once you've filled out an application, we will contact your references and put you in touch with the foster/caregiver of the cat. Once your application is approved, we schedule you to attend a Zoom group seminar on cat care. We invite both novice and experienced alike to attend. Then you would sign the adoption agreement, pay the adoption fee, and make arrangements for the cat to be moved to your home. We always do a home visit which is both reassuring to the cat when it is being introduced and to the foster who has taken care of the cat. Presently we are doing home visits with FaceTime or Zoom to confirm you have secure windows, no toxic plants and a generally safe environment for a cat. The adoption fee is $150 for one cat under 7 years old, $75 for one cat 7 years and older.
All cats have been tested for the Feline Leukemia and FIV virus, vaccinated (FVRCP and Rabies vaccines), microchipped, dewormed and spayed/neutered. If you adopt kittens that are too young to be altered, we will arrange the spay/neuter/microchip at a later date at a partner vet.
