This helps Rocky Mountain Puppy Rescue with pet care costs.
“Sweet Caroline” perfectly describes this big, adorable derp. Caroline is very sweet (her tail is almost always wagging) and is naturally trusting having already experienced baths, nail trimming, taking things out of her mouth, loud noises and other typical stressors with zero problems. She loves playing with toys and romping around the yard but primarily wants to be wherever you are. She’s extremely food motivated, which has already helped quite a bit with her training, and she acclimated great to her new diet. She also is quickly taking to potty training and seems to be a very fast learner.
The only real challenge is with her separation anxiety. She cries and barks when left in her crate for any amount of time (but stops after a short while so we’re still able to sleep without issue). Even if she’s just on the other side of a gate that she can see through, she’ll whine and do whatever it takes to get over—or through—the obstacle to you (and she’s very smart so will quickly figure something out). I think with time and trust, this will go away.
All in all, Caroline (aka, “Caro”) is a total sweetheart that simply wants to be next to you at all times. As long as she has access to her humans, she is quiet, calm and very lovable. It’s amazing how well she’s settled in and not even 3 months old.
