This helps Rocky Mountain Puppy Rescue with pet care costs.
Hoss is a thoughtful puppy who enjoys being near his people and is often content to sit or lie close by. He enjoys being close to his people and is often happy to sit on or near your lap during downtime. When relaxing on the floor, he may climb up to settle on you or curl in close, showing his affectionate and playful nature. He is showing typical puppy behaviors — playing, exploring, and resting — while also displaying a slightly more sensitive nature as he adjusts to his surroundings.
Hoss enjoys playtime and likes chewing on toys and bones. Like many puppies, he is still learning what is appropriate to chew, so supervision, puppy-proofing, and gentle redirection will be important as he continues learning.
He enjoys being around other dogs and eagerly tries to engage them in play, regardless of size. Ongoing supervision and guidance will help him continue learning appropriate play manners as he grows.
House training is still in progress. Hoss has been introduced to a crate and will willingly nap in it during the day with the door open. At night or when his people leave, he may need some encouragement to go into the crate and can have brief, minor protests. Once inside, he settles quickly. He has not yet been introduced to a leash or harness.
Hoss is also learning appropriate mealtime behavior and may benefit from being fed separately from other animals, especially while learning good mealtime habits. With continued guidance and positive reinforcement, he is expected to continue maturing and gaining confidence.
