Meet Athena (formerly known as Nelly)!
Athena is a high-energy, playful pup who loves to romp, explore, and go on adventures. Whether it’s hiking, walking, or simply playing in the yard, she’ll be your favorite workout partner! She adores kids, gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes, and can coexist with dog-savvy cats. Social and friendly, Athena makes friends everywhere she goes.
Athena is also potty trained and crate trained—she sleeps soundly in her crate at night and settles in for naps during the day. She’s a smart, eager-to-please girl, especially when beef jerky (her favorite treat!) is on the line, and she’s quickly learning new commands. Her energy is balanced by her love of cuddles: she’s known as a “stage 5 clinger” who’ll happily follow you around the house and snuggle up in your lap or next to you on the couch.
Athena is the perfect medium size and does great in an apartment with stairs. She’s gentle, social, and loves to be involved in whatever you’re doing. After a good play session, she settles beautifully and is always ready for a cozy cuddle.

This sweet and gentle girl is a familiar face to our rescue. Athena was adopted last year, but due to unforeseen life circumstances, her family can no longer care for her. There is absolutely no fault on her part — she has remained the same loving, affectionate companion she has always been.
