My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

With the holidays coming up, you must have a lot of baking to do, so you must need some Sugar!

I’m Sugar, a 20 week old shepherd mix who loves to be with her humans. Once I dub you trustworthy, I won’t let you go and I’ll even protect you from the scary vacuum!

I go potty outside like a champ, but I get a little nervous and need some encouragement. It’s a scary world out there for a small (large) pup like me! My foster mom says I think I’m smaller than I am, but don’t believe her, I’m a perfect lap dog! She says I’ll grow a bit but I think I’ll always be able to cuddle in laps

While I love all humans, younger kids move too fast and startle me. I much prefer older kids who understand my cues. I think I’d be a great best friend for an older kid or even a teenager! I’d keep them safe from things that bump in the night or hide under the covers with them for late night reading!

I miss my humans when they leave, so I do sing a bit! Over time I soothe myself in the crate, but I’d love to sleep and cuddle and just be with you all night long!

I’m currently learning sit, stay, go to bed, and come. I’m a studious pup!

If you’re looking for a new friend for your family, maybe, just maybe, we can help each other out in this big world?

Just add extra sugar to your grocery list today by clicking the link to send your application in!

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)(3) not for profit dog rescue based in Colorado Springs, CO. Our goal is to rescue dogs from high kill shelters in other states and get them adopted into forever homes all along the Front Range and Pikes Peak Region. We are brand new, established in April 2019, and we are an all volunteer organization. We are always in need of donations, either money, much needed dog items like dog beds, kennels, leashes, etc, and loving foster homes. If you can't provide any of these things, we are always in need of people that can help out at events and transport when the dogs come in. We look forward to hearing from you!!
