Meet Peppermint Patty! This lovely totie lady was found on a gas well pad (get it, Patty?) in the middle of no where on a cold day, and it wasn't safe for her to stay there. All the workers were living in hotels, but she conned one of them into getting her to safety for a couple nights, and from there, she came to us. On those car rides, she relaxed loose on the front seat as if she'd gone for drives a million times. When she got to a home, she snuggled in a bed as if it was an old friend she missed. And at the shelter, she greets volunteers as if she's been starved of attention for a long time. Patty clearly used to be a loved cat, maybe an indoor one, so how she ended up hiding under the tanks at a well pad, we'll never know.
The vet estimates Patty is 8 or 9 years old and she's being treated for a tongue ulceration, so she may blep a lot temporarily...or forever. She may need some work on her teeth, but we'll assess that once her tongue is better. She's just as sweet as her name suggests - she loves to snuggle, nuzzle and cuddle, gives great head butts and purrs like the motor at a candy factory. She's a true people cat, and will be an even truer friend to whoever picks her. She hasn't been in close contact with cats or dogs here yet, but she's so chill that she'll likely be just fine with them. Patty is already spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. She's not quite ready to go yet, but she'd love visitors or pre-applications if you can't help but fall in love, which is easy to do.
Apply to adopt your new best friend on our website (link in bio) or at the sanctuary any time we're open. Call 570-376-3646 or email secondchanceas@yahoo.com with any questions.

We are passionate about pairing animals in need with loving families who would best suit their individual needs. NOTE: You do not have to apply for a specific animal on your application. You can submit it as a "pre-application" for a certain size, age or breed of animal, and if approved, we can contact you if a possible match arrives at the shelter.
