My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dodge is a 6-year-old Australian Shepherd and Rottweiler mix adopted from Bedford Animal Shelter in Virginia at one year old. He is a friendly, affectionate dog who loves people and greets everyone like a friend. Dodge does well with children and cats and enjoys being part of a family. He can be selective with other dogs and benefits from slow, structured introductions, but he currently lives successfully with his canine sibling, Tater.
Dodge will do best with an experienced adopter who can provide structure, consistency, and continued training. He has a strong food drive and requires hydrated meals, even when using slow feeders. Snuffle mats are not recommended, as they tend to frustrate him. Dodge also experiences separation anxiety and requires a heavy-duty steel crate for safety when left alone.
Dodge is a loving, loyal companion who enjoys lounging, cuddling, and being close to his people. In the right home, he will reward his adopter with deep affection and devotion.
