Unfortunately, I am looking to rehome Thena soon. My federal job recently relocated me to Los Angeles, and between work, a second job, and starting my second master’s degree next year, my schedule has become extremely demanding and will only get worse.
I’ve been feeling terrible because she is home by herself most of the day, and it has really been weighing on my heart. I get to the office at 6:00 a.m. and don’t get off until around 4:30 p.m., then I rush home to let her out before heading to the gym, and later prepare for my second job in the evening/night. On weekends, I’m gone most of the day working as well. It’s a lot, and I know she deserves more time, attention, and companionship than I can realistically give her right now.
This has been a very hard conclusion to come to, but I truly believe it may be the right decision for both of us. I don’t want to put her in a shelter, and I’m not concerned about any money. My only priority is making sure she ends up in a loving home.
