Meet Daydream, but we like to call him “Spot.” One important thing to know right up front is that Spot is likely congenitally deaf. It does not slow him down one bit, in fact, we were completely oblivious until very recently. He is a happy, confident, affectionate puppy who navigates the world just fine with guidance and consistency.
Spot is a 4-month-old, 20-pound mystery mix. Google Lens has guessed everything from Lab to the rarely seen Dogo Argentino. We think he is simply a super mutt who is super cute. He is also on track to grow into a large, handsome boy, just like his sibling, Surprise. Apparently good looks run in the family.
Spot is the definition of a “best boy.” His temperament is easy, sweet, and eager to please. He loves to cuddle, follows his people everywhere, and will grow into the kind of dog who happily joins you on car rides, trail walks, or even a relaxing day on the boat. His main goal in life is simple: stay close to his person.
He is already leash trained, doing very well with potty training. He doesn't love his crate, we're working on that. He enjoys the company of other dogs, is laid back but has just the right amount of puppy energy, and is learning that cats are interesting but deserve a little respect.
His foster home is an active family with other dogs, cats, kids, and a mix of humans, so he is very well socialized.
What it’s like living with a deaf dog
Deaf dogs adapt incredibly well and often surprise people with how intuitive and connected they are. Spot pays close attention to his people, checks in visually, and responds well to routine and gentle guidance. Many adopters find deaf dogs to be especially bonded to their humans since they rely more on visual cues and consistency. With simple tools like hand signals, a predictable routine, and positive reinforcement, deaf dogs thrive and live full, happy, adventurous lives just like any other pup.
If you are looking for a loyal adventure buddy who will grow into a big, loving companion, Spot might be the perfect fit.
Adoption Fee: $350 which INCLUDES spay or neuter surgery, microchip, vaccinations, and current flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Apply today at https://pawsandprayers.org/adoption-application
