Meet Maple!
A brilliant and affectionate one-year-old Black and Tan Coonhound currently in Asheville, NC, whose boundless energy is only matched by her sharp mind and warm heart.
Maple is ready to leap into the next chapter of her life with an active, loving family who can keep up with her joyful spirit. With her sleek black and rich brown coat, long velvety ears, and those soulful hound eyes, she’s not just stunning, she’s captivating! But Maple’s beauty isn’t just skin-deep; she’s also exceptionally intelligent, deeply affectionate, and always eager to be part of the action.
Thanks to three weeks of professional obedience training and a devoted support system, Maple is now crate trained, house-trained, vaccinated, microchipped, and fully fluent in several commands like “sit,” “place,” “go,” “come,” and “quiet.” Her earlier barking concerns are now a thing of the past, thanks to patient positive reinforcement and structure. She thrives on routine, enjoys her meals in her crate (with a bit of hand-feeding on the side), and looks forward to her morning outings, so a fenced yard or an experienced walker would suit her perfectly.
Maple is a puzzle queen who lights up at the sight of a Kong, and while her puppy chewing days are behind her, her curious nose still loves a good countertop exploration! She’s a social butterfly with other dogs, especially those her size or larger, and would absolutely flourish in a home with a playful canine companion. She also does well with cats and is gentle with young kids, making her a wonderful match for families with children around six or older.
This girl isn’t one to sit quietly in the background, she wants to be part of every family moment, from outdoor adventures to cozy evenings. She’s smart, sweet, and ready to give her heart to a family that sees her!
