Skye is a 4-year-old, 46-pound female Pit Mix with a permanently worried expression that looks like she’s constantly overthinking something important. It’s completely meme-worthy and part of her charm, because in reality Skye is a very sweet, gentle girl with a fun side waiting to come out.
She can be shy at first, especially around men, and prefers to get comfortable at her own pace. Once she does, she surprises everyone with sudden zoomies, racing in happy circles like she’s celebrating a small victory. Those moments show just how joyful she can be when she feels safe.
Skye is looking for a calm, adult-only home with an experienced adopter who understands sensitive dogs and enjoys building trust slowly. The shelter has been overwhelming for her, and she’s ready for a quieter place where she can finally relax. She would need to be the only pet, as other dogs make her uncomfortable.
If you’re hoping for a sweet companion with a funny little face, gentle energy, and occasional bursts of happiness, Skye could be a wonderful fit.
*Reminder* We are currently facilitating adoptions through appointment only. If you arrive at the shelter without an appointment to meet a dog, we may not be able to assist you.
