My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rowan – Available for Adoption

**Meet Rowan: A Work in Progress**

Rowan is a sweet, gorgeous kitten who needs a patient and experienced adopter. She came to us after living outdoors with other colony cats, and even after 2 months in foster care remains skittish around people.

Rowan is making progress, but building trust with humans doesn’t come easily for her—she needs someone who understands that this may be a longer journey, and who is committed to helping her feel safe at her own pace. Spoiler alert: the wait will be well worth it!

When Rowan does let her guard down, you’ll see glimpses of the loving, cuddly cat underneath. If you can gently hold her and stroke her head and paws on the couch, she’ll purr and even drool with happiness! Rowan’s foster mom cuddles with her on the couch about six times a day, and has never met a cat who loves cuddling this much! But note that these moments take work to achieve, and Rowan may always be a bit reserved with people. She hisses when scared, but never bites or hits!

Where Rowan truly shines is with other cats! She adores feline companionship and will cuddle right up to any cat she meets. Their presence gives her confidence and comfort, making a home with at least one friendly, relaxed cat essential for her success. She spends her days tumbling and running and climbing with her foster siblings (4 big cats!) and loves to nap with her tuxedo bestie, Marlon.

This athletic girl is also a joy to watch during play! She goes wild for wand toys, launching herself several feet into the air with impressive acrobatics (sometimes landing on her feline housemates in her excitement). She’s smart, too: she’s already learned the morning routine and waits by the bedside table each day, meowing for her pre-breakfast playtime session.

Rowan’s ideal home is with an experienced adopter who is comfortable with fearful cats and has realistic expectations. At least one confident resident cat is required (though more is even better!), and though Rowan hasn’t yet met a dog, she’s likely to be okay with them too.

Rowan is approximately 5-6 months, spayed, negative for FeLV and FIV and up-to-date on her vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting him, contact Boston's Forgotten Felines on Facebook or at catadoptions@bostonsforgottenfelines.org

We are not a shelter but a rescue group. Our cats are at different foster homes. Meet & greet will be coordinated between foster homes and potential adopters once an application is in place.

More about this rescue

Boston streets are flooded with homeless cats and kittens. Some were abandoned, while others are feral (offspring of those abandoned cats.) We are the Feral Cat Warriors who fight to help them survive every single day. Our aim is to ensure that feral cats have a stable and safe shelters, food and medical attention as needed and for strays/abandoned cats to be adopted.

We are all volunteers with full time job so please be patient if we do not respond to your request immediately. We will respond to any questions/requests within 24 hrs. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
