My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Orion, Indra, Vesper, and Zephyr — four 11-week-old Mountain Cur/Heeler mixes who are smart, spunky, and ready to take on the world… preferably with you right by their side.
These pups are: • Very friendly and love everyone they meet
• Big fans of kids and other dogs
• Curious, confident, and incredibly smart
• Still learning the fine art of house training (they are babies, after all)
• Always up for an adventure
Because of their Cur/Heeler mix, they will do best with active families who enjoy walks, playtime, training, and mental enrichment. Training will be important, but the good news is these puppies are eager learners and very willing to please. They are the kind of pups who thrive with structure, consistency, and a sense of purpose.
Cats are… questionable 😅
Not aggressive, just fully convinced cats are the world’s most exciting toys. Slow introductions and supervision will be key.
🎁 Christmas wish: a couch to crash on, a family to grow up with, and someone who understands that smart puppies need guidance just as much as cuddles.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

CATS:

The Ashland County Humane Society takes in homeless cats and kittens, caring for them until they can be adopted into loving homes. We do not yet have a shelter, so all of our cats are housed in volunteer foster homes while awaiting adoption.

All of our cats are feline leukemia tested & FIV tested, wormed, micro chipped, receive vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered prior to being placed up for adoption.

DOGS:

The Ashland County Humane Society also works with the Mansfield Correctional Institute to help homeless dogs in need. Dogs enrolled in the program are housed at the prison, and are cared for by specially selected inmates, who also train the dogs.

A professional dog trainer works with the inmates, teaching them how to train the dogs, who learn basic obedience and are housebroken, making them easier to adopt into families.

All of the dogs receive dewormer, microchip, vaccinations, heartworm test and flea and heart worm treatment and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
