Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Holiday – Ideal Working/Barn Cat!
Holiday is a beautiful young feral cat looking for a safe outdoor home where she can thrive as a skilled mouser on a farm, barn, or property.
She is fearful of humans and prefers minimal contact, though she's slowly becoming more comfortable around people (still quite wary – no lap cat here!).
Holiday would excel in a working cat role: independent, healthy, spayed, vaccinated, and ready to earn her keep by controlling rodents naturally.
She needs a secure environment with shelter, daily food/water, and time to adjust.
If you have a barn or outbuildings and can provide a low-stress life for this sweet but shy girl, Holiday could be your perfect pest control partner!
This independent feline is not suited for indoor pet life – they are [e.g., fearful of humans, feral/semi-feral, prefers minimal contact] but excellent at natural rodent control.
All our barn/working cats receive:
Spay/neuter surgery
Current on Rabies and FVRCP vaccines
Flea treatment and deworming
Ear-tip, a procedure performed under anesthesia, pain meds provided.
Important Acclimation Requirement:
Barn cats must be confined for 2-4 weeks in a secure, sheltered enclosure (e.g., large crate, tack room, or escape-proof area) with daily fresh food, water, and litter box(es). This allows them to adjust to new sights, sounds, and smells, bonding to the location as "home." Releasing too early risks the cat attempting to return to their previous territory and potential danger.
After acclimation, provide ongoing:
Access to shelter (barn/outbuilding for protection from weather/predators)
Daily food and fresh water
Monitoring for health needs
If you have a suitable low-stress outdoor environment and can commit to these guidelines, [Cat's Name] will be a valuable, eco-friendly pest control partner!
