My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com
Meet Papa — a.k.a. Big Papa
2-year-old Bulldog mix, Professional Heartbreaker, Volunteer Favorite, Certified Loverboy!
Ladies… brace yourselves.
This handsome hunk is a BIG kisser, a world-class cuddler, and a smooth talker (well… tail-wagger) who absolutely thrives on female attention. If there’s a woman in the room, Papa will find her, charm her, kiss her, and make her feel like she’s the only person on Earth. It’s his gift.
Papa’s hobbies include:
-Being irresistible
-Chewing bones like a champ
-Performing intense “surgery” on unsuspecting stuffed toys
-Playing tug like it’s a competitive sport
-Collecting admirers everywhere he goes
But don’t worry — this flirt has manners, too. He knows sit, keeps his crate spotless, and happily settles down after playtime. He pops right into his kennel like it’s no big deal because hey, even icons need their rest.
Papa is dog-friendly, but cats? Absolutely not. The man has opinions, and his prey drive says “felines need not apply.” A fenced yard is recommended, because when Papa sees something exciting… well, he’s gonna go for it.
Leash manners? He’s working on it. But Big Papa is super food- and praise-motivated, so with the right partner, he’ll improve quickly.
Papa is fun, affectionate, wildly charming, and full of life. If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, flirty stud who knows how to make you feel special…Come meet Big Papa. He’d love to kiss you hello.
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first thing to do is submit an application for approval. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the rescue location as it is a privately run boarding, training, & grooming facility. Individual meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters.

Additional adoption info

Due to recent events, we use discretion when adopting to a home with children under the age of 5 and to an adult under 23. This does not mean you are automatically disqualified, but we may require additional information.

The adoption fee for all animals listed depends on the breed/species, age, vet care, cost to pull from the kill shelter, worming medicine, flea medicine, vaccinations, micro chip, etc. The adoption fee BARELY covers all of the previous mentioned expenses. Please do not ask for us to lower the fee.

All adopters must fill out an application. Please note: Once you submit an adoption application, it could possibly take up to 10 days to process. Thank you for your patience. Please email us for an adoption application at rescue@mbrohio.com or submit on our website http://www.mbrohio.com/adoption-application/

Go meet their pets

The dogs listed on this site are located at various foster homes throughout Ohio & some are located at a private boarding facility. Anyone wishing to visit one of our dogs or other animals must first complete an application and be an approved adopter before scheduling an appointment. Majority of scheduled appointments take place at a boarding facility in Grafton, Ohio

Please make a note that we do not transport our animals to you; you would need to come to Grafton Ohio to meet and possibly adopt.

More about this rescue

This site supports a small group of people who try to help as many animals that we can that have been displaced. All of the animals are checked by a vet, altered and updated on all vaccinations prior to going to a home.

We are all volunteers who do the best that we can with the limited funds and resources available to us. We give the potential adopter as much information as we can, including copies of all vet records but we normally do not know the history of the animals, as they are strays at the pound or taken by a humane officer from poor living conditions. Very rarely do we have owner releases. Most dogs in our program were minutes away from being put to sleep so the pound could make space for more strays.
