Rosie is currently in Texas and available for preadoption ONLY at this time. He will be ready to go right into his forever home on January 26.
Rosie
Rosie is the kind of dog who makes a house feel calmer just by being in it.
She’s an older girl who has zero interest in chaos and a strong preference for cozy blankets, quiet companionship, and being near her people. Rosie doesn’t ask for much. She wants a soft place to nap, a predictable routine, and someone who understands that older dogs are a gift, not a project.
In her foster home, Rosie is fully house trained, quiet, and easy to live with. She’s calm indoors, respectful of the home, and settles easily. She walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and doesn’t get worked up over much of anything. She lives with other dogs of all ages and sizes and does just fine, but she’s more of a “happy to coexist” kind of gal than a playful social butterfly. If there’s a couch available, that’s where you’ll find her.
Rosie is affectionate in a gentle, low-key way. She enjoys cuddles, likes being close, and shows her love quietly rather than demanding constant attention. She can be a little overwhelmed in new places at first, but with patience and calm guidance, she settles in beautifully. Baths are best kept relaxed and low stress, which honestly fits her whole personality anyway.
Her favorite activities include nap time, meal time, and burrowing into fluffy blankets like it’s her full-time job. She loves food, loves comfort, and loves her people.
Rosie would thrive in a calm, laid-back home with someone who appreciates an older dog and the steady, peaceful companionship they offer. She doesn’t need excitement. She needs someone who will choose her for exactly who she is.
If you’re looking for a quiet, sweet presence to share your space and your couch, Rosie is ready.
This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)
To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.
PLEASE READ:
• If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.
• All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.
• Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.
Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.
Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.
