My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************

We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.

Comet, 3 year old, neutered male, hound/retriever mix, 56 pounds. Comet is in a foster home in San Antonio, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up!

Comet, AKA Buddy, was saved from the county shelter in San Antonio, after been rescued from the streets.

Comet lives with another (female) dog and would be happiest in a home where he has a sibling to snuggle and play with. He was initially wary when being introduced, but is now very friendly and playful. He has a fairly high, but not obnoxious energy level and loves to run the zoomies! He has a really balanced playstyle and has shown no food/resource aggression around the resident dogs.

This sweetie has been around indoor cats and kids, and does well with both. It should be noted that he has a bit of herding instinct in him. We typically recommend a home with kids aged 10 years or older, or those who can understand and respect animal behavior cues.

Comet is fully house, crate and leash trained. He sleeps in his kennel at night and does not whine or cry, and he does not pull on the leash. Since going into foster, he has not had any accidents in the house and will alert you when he needs to go potty. Comet doesn't appear to have any issues with separation anxiety but is crated when he isn't able to be supervised as his one vice is loving to taste test all of the things.

While he has made strong strides in the time he's been in a foster home, Comet is a bit wary of men. He adores his foster dad, so if his new home is willing to be patient and consistent, Comet will come around.

Comet’s favorite thing is to please, so he is easy to train and does not require hard corrections. He is very sweet, affectionate and seeks out cuddles, and is just happy to be anywhere with you. He is a resilient, adaptable dog who is looking for his forever family!

***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
