My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ignatius - a gentle soul with a heart full of quiet love.

Ignatius is the kind of cat who doesn't rush into the spotlight. He needs a little patience and understanding at first, but for the right person, he blossoms into something truly special. Once he feels safe, Ignatius reveals his sweet nature, leaning into pets and soaking up gentle attention like he's been waiting for it all along.

This handsome guy would thrive in a calm, quiet home where things move at his pace and kindness is the language spoken every day. He isn't demanding or flashy - he's soft, tender and deeply appreciative of the humans who take the time to earn his trust.

If you're looking for a companion who will reward your patience with affection, gratitude, and quiet moments of connection, Ignatius may be the perfect match. Sometimes the most meaningful love is the kind you grow together.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
