My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

THIS IS A COURTESY POST - THIS DOG IS NOT AT OUR SHELTER

Obi is a St. Bernard and was born in September of 2024, so he’s just over a year old. He is not neutered. He knows basic commands like sit, shake (paw) and leave it. He does well with potty training as long as he’s kept on schedule but does use puppy pads (XL).

He’s been exposed to dogs, cats and children. He does occasionally chase cats if they run but in general is very tolerant of them. He would do best in a home where he’s the only dog or would need a proper introduction to the right dog companion. He has shown some resource guarding with food, so a home with older, respectful children would be best.

He’s moderately active. He enjoys a good zoomie around the yard followed by a bone and a nap! While he does enjoy being outside, he’s an indoorsman. He does ok on a leash but is used to having freedom in the fenced in back yard.

I can be reached at 715-896-2430 or booda_beans86@msn.com with inquiries.

More about this shelter

We are an open-admission, county-run dog shelter that takes in dogs who are stray, surrendered or confiscated. We do partner with other shelters to take transfers whenever we can help. We investigate animal cruelty for all species, and rely on the assistance of other organizations if we have to confiscate any animal that cannot be housed in our shelter.
