My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Turkey: The Playful Soul Seeking a Patient Heart!
Don’t let the name fool you—Turkey is 100% feline and 100% sweetheart! This gentle soul is looking for a quiet home where he can blossom at his own pace. While he might be a little "chicken" at first, Turkey has a heart of gold and a playful spirit that is well worth the wait.

Turkey is a social butterfly when it comes to other four-legged friends. He absolutely loves to snuggle up with other cats and even the family dog! He finds comfort in his furry companions and would do best in a home that already has a confident pet to show him the ropes.

How to Win Turkey’s Heart:
The Way to the Soul: Turkey is highly motivated by food and treats! If you’re offering a snack, he’ll be the first one in line.

Playtime is Key: He can’t resist a good toy. Engaging him in play is the best way to break the ice and watch his confidence shine.

Patience is a Virtue: Turkey is a bit shy with humans initially. He needs a family that understands "patience is key." Give him space, and before you know it, he’ll be approaching you for interaction on his own terms.

Turkey is a sweet, cautious boy who just needs to know he’s safe. If you have a calm home and a heart full of patience, Turkey is ready to start his next chapter with you!

Go meet their pets

Adoption events are held regularly in the community at Petco Winchester VA every other Saturday. Additional events are held at area festivals, wineries, breweries, and parks. Approved adopters can schedule a private meet and greet with their chosen pet. Same day adoptions are not done, so please apply in advance of any adoption event to give us time to check vet and personal references and to complete the video home visit.
