Emile, who is 6 months old, is the sweetest boy who was brought to us as a stray. Although he’s young, he has already come such a long way and has learned the joy of human connection. At first, he may be a bit shy, but give him a little time, and you’ll discover just how much love this small boy has to give. Once Emile warms up, he won’t be able to get enough of his human(s)! He leans into pets, purrs like a tiny engine, and lights up at scratches and attention. He truly loves love.
Emile has tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus). FeLV is not transmissible to humans or other animals and can only be passed from cat to cat, most commonly through saliva, such as sharing food or water bowls or mutual grooming. FeLV affects the immune system and, on average, FeLV-positive cats do not live beyond four years after diagnosis, though during that time many can still enjoy a good quality of life with proper care and monitoring. For this reason, Emile will need to be the only cat in the home or live with other FeLV-positive cats. This diagnosis doesn’t dim his spirit, it simply means he needs someone willing to cherish him fully, for however long he’s here. In return, he’ll give you enough love and affection for a lifetime!
He’s looking for a calm, understanding home that will give him patience as he settles in and all the affection he blossoms under. With kindness and consistency, Emile becomes a trusting, joyful companion who wants nothing more than to be loved and to love back.
As we are closed to the public, adoptions are by appointment only. If you have an interest in meeting Emile, please fill out our online adoption application (https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/MWHS/Cat). We will review all applications and make appointments for those applicants we feel would provide a good and loving home for Emile.
