I’m a 6-year-old gentleman who’s been through a few changes lately. I came to the shelter as an owner surrender due to allergies, which was hard for me—I’m very much a “home” kind of cat.
I am declawed on all four paws, so I need a family who understands what that means. Declawing can sometimes lead to behavioral challenges, and I’ll need patience, consistency, and kindness to help me feel safe and comfortable. One important thing to know about me: I need a large litter box, or I may have accidents—this helps keep my paws comfortable.
You might notice my funky haircut right now. When I arrived, I was overweight and couldn’t groom myself properly, so I needed some help. With proper care and a healthy routine, I’m already feeling better and working on becoming my best self again.
I do not enjoy dogs, but I’ve lived with other cats successfully and even enjoyed mutual grooming with them—it was one of my favorite things. I’d love a calm home where I can relax, feel safe, and be loved for who I am.
If you’re willing to understand my past and support my future, I promise to give you my quiet companionship in return. Adopt Salem—just please know what declawing means, and be ready to help me thrive
