My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a new char-cute-erie for your holiday season? Look no further, we have all the cheese to please your puppy appetite.

Meet Cheddar, Gouda and Asiago, the kelpie/heeler mix to melt your heart! These pups are BIG ENERGY and require an experienced guardian to continue working on their puppy training and manners. Heelers are incredibly smart dogs and require a very active home to keep their brains engaged. If they are not busy, they can become bored and destructive- apartment living is not suitable for this busy breed. They would do best in a home with yard access, with guardians who love to adventure and explore the great outdoors! They are still working on their potty training and will need a patient guardian who understands the ups and downs of puppyhood. They have their spays and neuters booked on the North Shore and adopters will be required to get them to and from the appointment. These pups would be great to a family with kids and other animals, but should always be introduced to both with supervision.

If you are interested in this char-cute-erie crew, please stop by the BCSPCA West Vancouver between 12pm-3pm Tuesday-Sunday. Please note that applications received in person will be prioritized!.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
