-This skinny, sweet boy is the definition of quiet resilience. He walks nicely on leash without pulling and takes in the world carefully, still unsure but trying his best. When he first entered the room, his tail was tucked and his nerves were showing—but give him a little time, and his true heart starts to shine.
-I sat on the floor and he cautiously approached, allowing soft pets while keeping a close eye on everything. When I stopped, he nudged my hand for more—his way of saying “please don’t stop.” He even leaned in to sniff my face and rewarded me with a few gentle kisses.
-He’s food motivated and knows how to sit, taking treats politely with just a few reminders to be gentle. Toys aren’t really his thing yet, but affection? That’s where he truly blossoms. When I laid down, he scooted in close, still a little tense but clearly craving comfort. After a few minutes of patience and reassurance, he relaxed, flopped over, and offered his belly—soaking up belly rubs for a long, peaceful while.
-This boy needs time, patience, consistent meals, and lots of love. In return, he’ll give you quiet loyalty, tender moments, and the incredible reward of watching a timid heart learn it’s finally safe. 🐾💙
-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros

•Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in.
•There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption.
•To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering.
**And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.**
•The shelter is open 7 days a week 10:30 AM - 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM.
