Born on the streets of Ellis County, Petunia spent nearly her first year roaming with only her sister and her 30-ish pound mom for protection. Life taught her to be cautious, and she’s still a little skittish and unsure about human touch.
Now she’s safe with Flying B, and everything is changing. Petunia is learning what it means to just be a young dog—playing with other dogs, settling into routines, and discovering that good food arrives twice a day, every single day. She’s also beginning to learn that people aren’t so scary after all, and that sometimes a crook of an arm is a pretty good place to relax.
She’s still finding her confidence, but with patience and kindness, Petunia is beginning to bloom.

Flying B Animal Rescue & Sanctuary was founded in honor of my husband Tom Baker who passed away in 2023 from pancreatic cancer. Tom understood my profound love of animals and wanted me to follow my dream to start an animal rescue - so here we are.
